Three apprehended for killing vigilante in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti State have arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria at a quarry in Ikere Ekiti on Thursday.

The Commander, Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Ekiti State Police Command, Mr Marcus Ogundola, who confirmed the suspects’ arrest said, “We have arrested three suspects, but investigation is still ongoing.

“We cannot say for now whether they are the real perpetrators, but we are thoroughly digging into the killing.”
The state Commandant of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Mr Akin Olounloni, who confirmed the incident, however, said the deceased was killed by suspected cultists.

Olounloni stated, “The deceased had earlier called to report that some cultists had threatened to kill him after he reprimanded them.
